I like making large scale sculpture, playing with diverse materials and figuring out how to make them....not fall over..... On these projects I work with a team of fellow artists as well as engineers and technicians in order to achieve this. Sometimes these commissions are the result of public competitions with rigorous briefs and adherence to stakeholder views with extensive public consultation. But sometimes, gloriously (!) they are commissioned by private clients who give me the luxury of their complete trust, alllowing me an open brief....and then......well then....it doesn't get better than that.
